Habitat for Humanity of Mariposa County has received a generous donation of $500 from Soroptimist International of Mariposa. Pictured here are Habitat’s new Executive Director, Roger Powell, and Soroptimists, Debbie Lester (l) and Oralee Phillips. The donation will go toward Habitat’s fourth home scheduled to be built in 2017!
The two non-profits teamed up during the holidays when Chanthira Ruaisab, Habitat’s second partner family mother and her daughter, offered to open their Habitat home for the Soroptimist Christmas Home Tour! About sixty people visited the home on December 10 and were able to see some of the features of a Habitat home: wide doors and hallways for accessibility and energy-saving construction, as well as solar panels donated by PG&E.
Thank you, Soroptimist International of Mariposa, for your faithful support of Habitat’s work in decent, affordable housing in our county.
